(Wholesale) Content Delivery App by Thomas Johnson

Hi,

I have just launched a new App and was recommended to post a comment here. The app is called "Wholesale Content Delivery" and can be found at https://apps.shopify.com/wholesale-content-delivery.

The idea came about when I purchased something from a Shopify store http://www.naturerelaxation.com in the early morning, only to find that I had to wait for the shop owner to send me a dropbox link. After purchasing a second video, I requested a link on the "Live Chat" and I inquired why it was that he did not have setup an automatic content delivery method. At the time, I did not know that other competing apps existed, and so I suggested that I might offer to develop something.

Unfortunately, he couldn't meet my price to develop such a system, so by gradually removing features, we came to something reasonable. So the idea is that by not spending thousands of dollars (or equivalent hours) on design and extra features, I could offer digital downloads inexpensively. Later on, if there is significant interest, certainly the features could expand to include an updated design, email templates, etc.

Whereas competing apps will charge $100 a month for 20 GB storage, I charge $10 a month for 100 GB storage and 10 GB traffic. I joke on the app page, that the price of their service over 12 months is the price of my service for 10 years. Quite a difference, and if your shop doesn't make *that* much money, it is quite impossible to pay so much. Likewise, my client had approximately 1,0000 - 2,000 GB of video downloads. Not only would this cost upwards of $500 per month on a competing app, but it is not even offered. You may notice that he has not implemented the service yet - he is planning to. It is quite a monumental task to upload so many videos and we will probably circumvent the standard upload form offered at wholesalecontentdelivery.com. I've also added just now the $5 plan (5 GB storage and 10 GB traffic).

I'm not sure that I'm looking for full criticism of the app here, since the design is meant to be terrible to save time and of course extra features are lacking.
