Lost faith in uploading CSVs to Shopify by Latasha Willis

Since discovering the Google Shopping app two weeks ago, I have spent quite a bit of time trying to get all of my products listed only to go back and fix recurring errors for hundreds to thousands of products at a time. When uploading the CSV with the overwrite box checked, several items are still duplicated, so I have to go back and find them so I can delete them. After that, I have to see which ones do not have product categories and add them in bulk manually (which is why I used the CSV in the first place). In the middle of all this, a bunch of the barcodes in my CSV keep getting corrupted in which they round off five or six digits. Because of all the zeroes, they're going into Shopify in scientific notation, so now I have about 670 products with GTIN errors. I'm not sure whether it's Excel doing this or not, but I'm afraid to upload a new CSV for fear that I will duplicate products again, so I am going to spend the next few days manually fixing each one. After all, I finally got the product categories in and I don't want to lose them because I end up getting duplicates if the override fails again. I'm determined to get off this infinite loop so I can go back to focusing on promoting my site.
