It's sucky but you can only make discount codes by faking it using the Shopify Admin. There is no API endpoint sanctioning discount codes. Sadly... but true.
Shopify has an App that will generate all the codes you want, in a shop, but since there is no endpoint to reveal them to your App, you're kinda stuck.
