We're a clothing store (http://www.freddypantroom.be) with both a webshop and a physical retail store (using Shopify POS) and we're looking to open a new location. The way we manage our stock now is the following:
- we order new stock from the manufacturer
- we check the supplied new stock to see whether everything is there and the order checks out
- we keep and excel sheet of the new stock and manually update the inventory in Shopify admin
Is there any way (app?) we could be doing this any easier?
- update the inventory by scanning bar codes?
Because we are manually updating the inventory in Shopify and there is no history (timestamp, reporting) of what the inventory was before the update, we put a lot of trust in the person updating the numbers. So far, this is not a problem because we only have one shop, but since we're planning to open a second shop (in another country), we need a way to verify the before/after stock inventory. Has anyone else found a solution for this?
Can you track inventory updates in the advanced reporting? We'd like to see something along the line of: stock for product x was raised at day/time y for reason z.
Thanks for helping!
