If every subscription app runs on an external server, then I get it.
This is likely the case. See the app development guide for more detail.
It's just my customer input for the developers. If you are able to make the app so you can sell outright, I am more likely to purchase.
You wouldn't be alone in this thinking, Any feedback from shop owners would be appreciated by the devs so it's great you've taken the time to do it. Not everyone does. Feedback helps fine tune their product to make it better (features / pricing / whatever) and that's a win for everyone.
