Google Shopping UK - tax on products to multiple jurisdictions by Harry Holmes

We are migrating our existing store into Shopify, we sell to various countries around the world all of which have their own tax rules, though the UK is by far our largets market.  I am unsure how to set up our products re tax (VAT), If we set the base price (excluding tax) in Shopify products section and untick "All taxes are included in my prices" in the tax section then Shopify uses the tax rates to charge tax when the customer selects his/her country in the basket, which is fine and works as I would expect.

The issue though is with Google Shopping as follows:

Does the Google Shopping app allow for the appropriate tax to be added the the base price in the feed that it generates for Google Shopping?

If so, what happens when Google does a price comparison with the site, because the prices on the site are excuding tax as this is only added at the basket stage. This is against Google Shopping's rules as the price displayed on Google Shopping has to match  that on the website. We have previously had experience of this and have had our products removed from Google Shopping. This is a serious issue.

How can we work around this? I have tried adding in tax (VAT) into the price in the product section and ticking the  "All taxes are included in my prices" in the tax section of Shopify, which woud satisfy Google and if fine for the UK market but it means that in those countries where the level of tax is less the price stays fixed so we would be less competitive... though a lot more profitable!

Any thoughts / suggestions would be much appreciated.

Harry
