I'm in process of setting up two stores on shopify. The base Themes and functionality is good, but quite obviously with the propensity of Apps available, there are many shortcomings to the base program that are filled through this convention.
The issue I am seeing is that it seems adding a number of apps, in addition to the $100 extra per month to have nothing more of value to me than shipping calculation, the monthly drain to run the stores adds up to a significant amount. I have nothing against making money, as that is fundamentally the purpose of all of us having stores. What I would like to see is some different purchase options for apps. I personally would rather pay a few hundred up front and own it, rather than rent in perpetuity. I can manage my costs and cash flow much better that way.
Are there options from the APP developers for this? If not, I'd love to see an added tier of purchase or Rent to own perhaps - after "X" months, you own it. Does anyone else feel this way?
