While true that the MaxMind requires a domain to register it does provide for piece of mind that it just works when FreeGeo takes a day or two off. Fonts are the same. The nice ones on Typekit require a domain to use them, whereas the freebies from Google et al, look OK at best, but are nothing stellar compared to professional ones.
